Thanks to the breed of compact digital cameras, anyone and everyone can take a awesome photos. This is the primary reason behind the wildly increasing popularity of compact cameras - convenience. Yes, nothing beats the convenience of a taking a great quality photograph on your point and shoot digital camera, and then printing the pictures at your convenience.

The point and shoot camera is designed mainly for the complete novice. That is how it got its name in the first place! Point and shoot cameras are perfect for capturing memories at the spur of the moment, so they're the ideal choice for average photographers. Even a kid can take great pictures with a compact digital camera.

Digital compact cameras are really easy too, as well as shooting great still photos, they can generally be used to capture home video's too, so you can use them for making small movie clips. Many nowadays have even shoot HD videos! Some compact digital cameras can even satisfy the most discriminating professional photographers!

I'm a professional sports photographer by trade and I shoot most of my action photography with a Canon professional grade DSLR.

Starting out my first SLR was a Pentax K1000, the thing was an absolute tank! I shot with that for years till I got a Canon AE1 for Christmas one year. I loved that camera and it lasted for many years. Then I switched to Nikon and started shooting professionally and invested in all the accessories.

Then the digital revolution rolled around and Canon seemed to have a jump on the digital side so I painfully made the conversion over to Canon where I still reside today. But I like what I see coming from Nikon and I'm half tempted to switch back but at this point that would be the price of a kings ransom in equipment alone, so for now I'll stick with my Canon it's producing fine images.

Here's my dream Nikon Camera it's the Nikon D800, a 36.3 megapixel FX-format HD-SLR for pro photographers who demand images of the finest quality, pro's who insist upon superior results, from speed, to good handling (nice buttons). For the cinematographers in the crowd true 1080p HD cinema quality video. The D800 is the essential tool for today's still photographer / video professional.

I've been a professional photographer for many years and I own a lot of awesome photography books, because that's how to improve your shots. I've picked up a zillion tips and techniques that I use all the time in my images. I don't know what I'd do without my reference books. I am constantly looking up helpful information and tips.

Here it is the ultimate guide to digital photography. Basically everything you ever wanted to know about digital photography, but didn't have anybody to ask, and then some.

When you ask someone what they're most valuable possessions are you'll inevitably get the answer photos at some point. So why keep them locked up inside the computer where nobody can enjoy them?

The computer revolution has changed the traditional frame a whole lot. Now not only photos but video clips may be shown in the frame display. Most of your digital frames are rather small, but I found one that has a huge 18 1/2 inch display. Perfect for showing off your most prized possessions.

Camera bags are available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Different camera bags are made with different uses in mind, they are made to fit particular types of photographic equipment. The right camera bag makes it easier to carry all photo equipment and provides quick convenient access when needed.

The job of a camera bag is to protect expensive equipment from getting banged around and damaged. There are several main types of bags including camera cases for smaller compact cameras, big bags for DSLR cameras and all the accessories, backpack bags and fanny pack bags, sling bags and huge wheeled bags to name several.

You don't have to spend a great deal of money on a backpack DSLR camera bag in order to get one that is well-made. Here's one from Canon that's under $50 on Amazon.com right now.

Yes it looks like a Canon zoom lens but this novelty item is actually a nice insulated coffee mug that makes the ideal present for the photographer that likes his or her occasional cup of java. Designed after the classic Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L lens. The coffee mug lid is even designed to resemble the lens cap! This is the Must have item for Canon enthusiast.

Searching for that ideal present for someone who loves being behind the camera, you just can't miss with this camera lens mug. This camera lens coffee mug is one of the most unique gift ideas ever for your photographer!

Last spring while on vacation, we went on a whitewater river rafting trip in Colorado, it was one of those times when I left the DSLR back at the hotel and opted to document the adventure from the perspective of my compact point and shoot tough camera. We opted for a full day trip on the Arkansas River and it was a fun time indeed.

After a couple of hours of rafting through adrenalin pumping rapids. We pulled over to the side in an eddy stopped for a nice lunch along the Arkansas river. The family wanted to know if I was able to get an good pictures? Yep, I got a ton of them, that was so awesome! So I busted out the camera, it's one of those new breeds of tough compact cameras for your extreme types that like to play in the water. It was loaded with shots of us shooting the Pinball Rapids, Zoom Flume, The Seven Stairs and then Widowmaker Rapids. Thanks to it's shockproof (it got hit with a paddle) and waterproof it's ready to capture our run through Sidels Suck Hole and Twin Falls Rapids coming up after lunch too.

There are many situations when it is advantageous to have one of those tough cameras. Like up on the ski slopes especially when the weather takes a turn for the worst on the mountain. I've got some stunning shots with my compact tough camera in inclement weather I wouldn't think of pulling out my DSLR in.

Instant cameras have been around for a long time. I had one back in the day and it was awesome. My first one you actually had to separate the two pieces of photo paper and fan it to dry the picture.

Then when they came out with the Polaroid One Step and I got one of those because you just inserted a cartridge with 10 prints and batteries and instant photos popped right out and developed right before your very eyes. And who could forget the pinnacle of Polaroid instant photography the SLR Polaroid SX 70. Even today it seems that everybody loves getting the photo right there on the spot, instead of having it trapped in the device.

With the new Polaroid Z2300 10MP Digital Instant Print Camera just snap your shot, print your image, and share online, no computer connections required. Smudge-proof, water-resistant photos with sticky backs for extra fun.

Plus this Polaroid instant camera saves the photos to camera memory or the SD card for downloading to your computer later. Print only the pictures you want save the rest of your pictures to memory.

Kids start shooting pictures around three years old, it makes sense, that's about the age we first put our kids in skiing lessons, it stands to reason that if kids can ski, then they should be able to click a shutter and capture an image. As it turns out kids can capture some pretty amazing images too. When they first came out with kids camera they were disappointing toys with low resolution, but parents demanded better and today the cameras for tots are much much better than they were. The resolutions have been bumped up and important features have been added so that today they they're much better.

Here's the popular VTech Kidizoom Camera in pink. It's also available in blue for boys. In addition to taking good photos kids can add funny stamps, borders, or silly photo effects to the images.

The Fisher Price Kid-Tough Camera was one of the first to make a decent camera for kids that shot really good pictures, and today they continue to add features and refine the Kid-Tough Camera. The latest addition is the See Yourself Camera swiveling lens so that the child can easily take pictures or video of themselves.
